Guide Bush Unit

An innovative and advanced Guide bush system developed by Star that has realized trouble-free operation with unprecedented speed and precision.

In former times, operators had difficulty managing the variations in bar diameters. The revolutionary system provides a system that is pneumatically controlled to grip both ground or drawn bar stock within a 30 micron tolerance.

  • No longer is it necessary to adjust guide bushes or for the control to overcome the problem.
  • No longer is it necessary to constantly measure bars and adjust accordingly.
  • The rotary magic guide bush is at all times controlled by constant air pressure.
  • The clearance between the guide bush and the material is always at zero.
  • The guide bush system automatically adjusts to suit the material size.

Neither control administration of material diameter nor G.B adjustment needed

Just until now

  • For small diameter material in particular, it was necessary to make selection by measuring diameters of material by micrometer beforehand.
  • It was also necessary to make adjustment of guide bushing at each time of introducing a different batch of material.
  • From now on

Guide bushing is all the times fastened tight by constant air pressure.

  • The clearance between guide bushing and material is always kept nil, even when material diameter changes.
  • Drawn material, if diameter dispersion is within 0.03mm, can be used.

Setting method

  • Turn the air pressure OFF and tighten the adjusting nut to such an extent that the material can be moved in and out lightly by hand.
  • Next, turn the air pressure ON and adjust the pressure while putting in and out the material by hand. Setting is thus completed. It is as simple as that.
* Even for machining drawn bar stock (tolerance within 0.03mm), same precision as that for ground bar stock is available. Material cost can be greatly saved.
